Stellar Repair for SQL software repairs corrupt databases of SQL Anywhere database. The tool is specially designed with algorithms that safely recover objects in these databases without making the slightest modification to the database structure. You can conveniently save the recovered objects to a new database that is created in the same version of SQL Anywhere as the original database.
Prerequisites for performing SQL Anywhere database repair:
You should have SQL Anywhere installed in your system before starting with the repair process.
The drive storing the database to be repaired should have free space equal to or more than the size of this database.
Ensure that the version of SQL Anywhere application installed in your system is same as of the corrupt SQL Anywhere database.
Database Repair Process:
NOTE: Initially, create a new database in SQL Anywhere and then close the application.
Launch Stellar Repair for SQL. The main interface of the software is displayed with a dialog box.
In the dialog box, click 'Select File' to select the desired database file for repair. In case you do not remember the exact path of the file to be repaired, choose 'Search Files' option to locate the file in a specific volume. Click 'Scan File' button at the bottom to start the scanning process.
After successful completion of the scan, all recoverable objects are listed in a tree-like structure inside the left pane.
You can preview individual objects by selecting them from the tree. In case you select a table, the software displays the table data, its properties, associated constraints, and referencing constraints.
Select the objects you need to repair and click 'Start Repair' icon on the toolbar. In the 'Save As' dialog box, provide the version of SQL Anywhere application and click 'Browse' to specify the path of the new database you created recently. Give the login information for the new database and then click 'Start'.
When the process is finished, the software saves all your recovered data to the specified database.
