In this knowledge base, you’ll learn how to increase the Mac data recovery process speed using Stellar Data Recovery software and efficiently retrieve your lost files.
As you are aware, data recovery time depends on the following factors:
- Type of scanning process you have used: Quick scan or Deep scan
- Size and type of storage drive from which you are recovering data
- The number of file types that the software is scanning
- The number of files the software is recovering
- The number of bad sectors or blocks the storage drive has
The targeted storage drive should be free from any physical damage to perform the recovery task.
You can reduce the recovery time by performing the following methods:
- Use Deep Scan only when the Quick Scan can’t find your files.
- Select the folder location from where you’ve lost your files.
- Select the appropriate file type from select what to recover screen.
- Select only the required file format from Settings > Supported File Types.
- Stop the scanning process once the software lists the desired files.
- Specify the starting and ending sector of the hard drive using the Select Region slider.
- Recover only the selected scanned-files to speed up the recovery process.
- Save the scan data, then load it at a convenient time and recover files priority wise.
- Create a disk image of a corrupt storage medium, then opt for scanning.
