Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging
Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging
Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging allows users to access a remote system right from their computer. For this, we need to create a secure and strong connection between the two systems. Once connected, users can control the remote system from their location. This means they can open files, run commands, and manage the remote system easily. This section describes the detailed process of how to establish this connection between the two systems.
Run Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging on your local system.
Locate the icon within the Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging interface that initiates the connection process. Clicking on this icon will prompt a dialoge box to appear on your screen, guiding you through the connection setup.
Note: Alternatively, you will get the same dialog box by clicking on a different icon or button within the interface.
Note: Before proceeding further, ensure the remote server is connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The VPN connection will assign an IP address to the remote system, which is necessary to securely establish the connection between the two systems.
The IP Address generated by the VPN connected to the remote system.
The Administrator Username of the Remote System.
The Administrator Password of the Remote system.
Once you have entered the required details, click to initiate the connection process.
A progress bar appears on the screen.
Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging will now attempt to establish a connection between your local system and the remote system using the provided credentials. Upon successfully establishing the connection, the screen will change as shown below, and you will gain access to the remote system's interface from your local computer. You can now begin performing various functions, such as opening files, executing commands, and managing the remote system.
Note: Maintaining the VPN connection on the remote system throughout the remote access session is essential. If the VPN connection is lost, the local and remote systems connection will also be terminated.
Note: In case of a connection reset or error, refer to the manual's troubleshooting section for guidance on resolving common issues and restoring the connection between systems.
