Stellar Migrator for Exchange
Stellar Migrator for Exchange
You can use Auto Registration to connect to the target Office 365, simplifying the setup process automatically. Alternatively, Manual Registration allows you to enter the necessary details. Choose the method based on your specific requirements.
Note: To use the auto-registration option, you need a Global Administrator account with the necessary credentials.
When the target server is Microsoft 365, you’ll need to authenticate to establish a secure connection. This uses modern authentication with ADAL (Active Directory Authentication Library) and OAuth 2.0 to safely access and transfer data from Microsoft 365 to the target environment.
There are two methods to register the target connection: Auto registration and Manual registration.
Steps for Auto registration :
In the Connect Target window, there are two registration options: Auto registration and Manual registration.
Select Auto Registration to register the application itself in your Entra ID (Azure AD).
Click Log in as Microsoft 365 Global admin to load the Entra ID sign-in page.
Sign in to your account window will appear. Enter the Global Administrator email ID and click Next.
Enter the Global Administrator Password.
A Sign in window will appear, prompting you to sign in to grant admin consent for Microsoft Graph API permissions. Sign in with your Microsoft account, or if you have a work or school account, use that to sign in. Click Continue.
Enter the password and click the Sign In button.
Auto app registration - Target window will appear, displaying the registration process, including granting admin consent for Microsoft Graph API permissions.
On the Auto app registration - Target window, the Result section displays the registration result. If the application is successfully registered in Azure AD, a "Successfully Completed" message will be displayed. Click OK.
Note: When the registration is successful, the check icon next to each step, such as Registering the application in Azure AD, assigning Microsoft Graph API permissions, and granting admin consent for these permissions, will turn green.
Once the registration is successful, the check indicator next to the "Log in as Microsoft 365 Global Admin" button will turn green, confirming the connection to the Target 365 server has been established successfully.
Steps for Manual registration :
Once your application is registered with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), follow the steps below to complete the manual registration process:
Step 1: Enter the Required Details
Email Address: Provide the email address of any user from your Target Office 365 tenant.
Application (Client) ID: Enter the unique Client ID assigned to your registered application in Azure AD.
Directory (Tenant) ID: Input the Directory (Tenant) ID associated with your Azure AD tenant.
Client Secret Value: Enter the Client Secret generated during the application registration process.
Step 2: Validation
Click the Validate button.
Once validation is successful, the Validation Check indicator next to the Validate button will turn green, indicating that the connection to the source server has been successfully validated using the provided credentials.
Step 3: Proceed to the Next Step
