BitRaser File Eraser
BitRaser File Eraser gives an option to search specified files present in the system and erase them using a suitable algorithm. Using Search & Erase option, you can search for multiple files in your computer's drives, folders and sub folders and erase them. Additionally, you can also search for a specific file using its extension in case you don't remember the file name.
To search files, follow these steps:
1. Run BitRaser File Eraser application.
2. The Search & Erase option is turned OFF by default. Click Search & Erase options to turn ON and click Next.
3. In File Name field, type the file name with extension of the file you want to search. From Find in field, select the drive / folder from which you want to search your file. Click Select Full Volume option if you want to search files within the entire drive.
4. In case, file name is not known, you can simply enter the extension and all the files with the extension will be listed. The file name or extension is added to the search list. Follow the above steps if you want to add multiple files to search list. Click Find button.
5. After the search is finished, a list of files found in the selected drive is shown as displayed below.
6. In case you want to navigate back to the previous window, click the button.
Note: Before you click the Erase button make sure that settings details are filled correctly. Refer Set Preferences for BitRaser File Eraser to update the setting preferences.
7. A Confirm Erasure dialog box appears with a warning message "Once the selected files are erased, you will not able to recover them back". Click Confirm Erase to start the erasing process.
Note: If you wish to cancel the erasing process, click Stop to abort the operation.
8. After the erasing process is completed, a dialog box appears with the message "Erasure Completed".
9. Click Restart Now to restart the system and let the changes take effect.
Note:
For restarting the system later, click Restart Later.
After the successful erasure, it is mandatory to restart the system.
