If your USB Debugging is “ON”, but you still cannot view your Android phone on the Stellar Data Recovery for Android interface, chances are that your computer does not recognized it. Don’t worry, it’s a minor issue that you can easily resolve with some simple troubleshooting steps. But before that, ensure that the USB debugging is enabled on your phone.

  1. Restart your Android Device and PC

After enabling USB debugging on your Android device, restart your Android device. But don’t forget to disconnect your device from the computer, if connected. Also, restart your PC to eliminate any temporary glitches or problems in the operating system.

  1. Reconnect USB cable

There’s a chance that the USB cable is loose or not connected properly. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your USB cable to ensure a proper connection. Ensure that the USB to Type C or Type B connector you’re using works properly and is not loose.

  1. Change the USB mode

After you connect your phone to the PC via a USB cable, swipe down from the top of your phone's screen and access notifications. Now, in the USB section, in the Transfer Files mode, select MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) or PTP (Photo Transfer Protocol) as applicable on your device.

Also, deselect any other selection, such as MIDI, etc. MTP or PTP mode allows your computer to read the files and access file system on your Android device. This may enable the software to recognize your device.

Change the USB mode

If this option is not visible, try reconnecting or changing the USB cable.

  1. Faulty USB port

If the USB port on your computer is faulty, the computer won’t be able to recognize any connected device. Insert the cable in another USB port on your computer or try another computer to check if the Android device is getting recognized. If the device gets recognized with any other USB port, your computer’s USB port is faulty.

  1. Missing or Outdated Drivers

Missing or outdated drivers can also restrict the computer from recognizing the connected Android device. Ensure you have the required drivers for your Android device installed on your computer. You may need to install Google USB Drivers or specific drivers for your device model.

  • Go to your Device Manager and select the Portable Devices option.
  • Right-click on it and select Update Driver Software.

select Update Driver Software

  • Now, choose “Search automatically for drivers” to update the drivers.
  • Otherwise, you can also choose “Browse my computer for drivers”, click on Browse and install the pre-downloaded Google USB driver.
