Stellar Remote Forensic Imaging
Users can customise various image creation settings to suit their specific needs and preferences. Let's look into each customisation option and understand its significance in the image creation process:
Determine the starting and ending sectors from which the image creation process begins and ends. This allows users to specify the exact range of sectors to be included in the image.
By selecting specific sectors, users can choose to capture only certain portions of the drive, enabling targeted image creation for specific purposes or data subsets.
Note: By unchecking the selection box, the software will create an image of the entire drive, containing all its contents and configurations.
Click on the drop-down menu next to Transfer block size to access the block size settings.
Select the appropriate block size for the data transfer during image creation.
The chosen block size determines the amount of data transferred in each operation.
Opt for a block size that balances transfer speed and resource utilization.
Select the"Encryption Key" checkbox to enable encryption for transferred blocks during image creation.
Select the "Default Key" radio button to use the default encryption key.
Alternatively, choose the "Custom Key" radio button to define a user-defined encryption key.
Note: The user will be required to enter the selected encryption key whenever they need to access the drive image.
Note: All the settings mentioned above will be added to the log report during the image creation process.
