4.2.2. Erase Internet Activity

Stellar File Eraser provides the option to erase the internet traces created by the web browsers.

Steps to Erase Internet Traces:

1. Run Stellar File Eraser.

2. Select Erase Traces from the Select Option displayed on the left pane of the screen.

3. Select Internet Activity tab from the right pane of the screen as displayed below:

4. Internet Activity tab displays the supported internet browsers with their activities and extraneous files created by them. Click   from the list of options to expand as displayed below:

5. Select the items you want to erase. 

Note: You can select a browser as well, to erase all the traces of that browser.

6. Click Erase Now to start the erasure process.

7. A confirmation message "This action will erase selected data permanently" appears. Click Proceed to start the erasure process.

8. A progress bar appears with the status of erasure process. 

9. Once the erasure process is successfully finished, a "Process Completed" window is displayed, showcasing the summary of deleted files alongside an "Erasure Complete" dialog box. Click Restart Now to restart the system and let the changes take effect. Select Restart Later if you wish to see the erasure summary first. 

Note: it is mandatory to restart the system after the successful erasure in order to ensure the changes take effect.
