Settings button of the application is used to configure settings, check updates or change language for Stellar Drive Monitor.
Run Stellar Drive Monitor.
On the main screen, click the Settings icon. The following options are available in the drop-down list:
General:
Check for updates automatically – Enable checkbox label to automatically check the latest upadates if available.
Show status in tray – Enable checkbox label for the application to show the status of the disk in the system tray (at the top right corner of the menu bar).
Temperature:
Show Temperature in – The user can change the unit of temperature displayed on the screen to Celsius or Fahrenheit (by default, Fahrenheit option is selected).
Enable Temperature warning – Using this option, the user can set the threshold value for temperature after/ on which application gives the warning.
Warning Temperature – Use this option to set temperature for system shutdown warning. This ensures that your hard disk doesn’t fail due to high temperature.
Shutdown Temperature – Use this option to Shut the computer down if the temperature of the disk exceeds the warning temperature. In such a scenario it is advisable to identify the cause of rising temperature. This will save you from a probable data loss due to hard disk failure.
Click OK to apply the settings.
Note: If the Show status in tray box is checked, only then the hard disk Temperature, Health and Partition will be displayed on the taskbar. To view the complete details, you need to open the software.
2. Update:
Click this button to check for both, major and minor updates to the software.
3. Languages:
In order to use Stellar Drive Monitor software in your preferred language, the application provides an option to select any of the desired language. Using the Languages option, you can change the entire application to a different language at any time/instance without having to re-install the application.
