Stellar Data Recovery for Taperecovers the data stored in the tape, creates a separate single file called Image, and saves it to your system. After an image is created, the software loads the image, scans it, and displays the scanned data in the tabular format. From the table, you can preview the data and save it to your system.
What is an Image?
The software creates a single file that contains the recovered tape data, this file is called an Image.
How many tapes can I connect to the software to create an image?
You can only connect one tape at a time to recover the data.
Will the software make any changes to my original data?
Stellar Data Recovery for Tape does not make any changes to the original data.
Does the software recover data in the same order as they are in the original file?
Yes, the software recovers data in the same order as they were in the original file.
What does Force Block Size do?
Force Block Size divides the stored data into different block sizes. You can select the desired block size from the drop-down list.
What is "Auto" Force Block Size?
"Auto" Force Block Size is the software predefined block size. It divides the data into the predefined size and hence will process faster.
I want to stop the ongoing Creating Image process. How can I stop it?
No, you cannot stop the Creating Image process in between. Abruptly closing the software will either harm your tape or the stored data.
How much time the software will take to scan the file?
The scan time depends on the size of the file. A smaller file will take less time while a larger file will take more time to scan.
Can I preview the recovered files?
Yes, you can. Preview option is available only for BKF, VHDX and FD files, not for ZIP & BKF files of Exchange Server 2003, 2007, 2010 & 2013. See Supported File Types for Preview to know more.
