5.3. Recovering Data from CD/DVD

A CD/DVD disk might become unreadable or corrupt due to a number of factors, such as heat, dust, scratches on the disk. Stellar Data Recovery can recover data from damaged CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD and DVD-RW discs. Stellar Data Recovery supports recovery from corrupt optical media disks burnt on Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Macintosh systems. The application performs a scan on the selected optical media for recovery.

To scan CD/DVD:

1. Run Stellar Data Recovery.

2. From What To Recover screen, select the type of data i.e. All Data or Office Documents, Emails, Audio, Photos and Videos, you want to recover.

3. Click Next.

4. From Recover From screen, select the connected CD/DVD drive from Connected Drives.

5. Click Scan. A Screen appears that displays the scanning process.

Note: To view the scanning details, click on the Click here link next to the Scanning details option at the bottom of the screen.

Note: Click on Stop or Pause/ Resume button to stop or resume the process.

Note: You can also initiate the deep scan process, once the scan of the selected hard drive volume is complete, click the "Click Here" next to "Deep Scan" at the bottom of the screen.

6. Once the scanning process is completed, details of the files and folder found are displayed in a dialog box as shown below:

Note: You can select only one CD/DVD at a time for recovery.
