Stellar Data Recovery
Stellar Data Recovery provides a feature to search large files and remove them from your system to free up storage space.
Run Stellar Data Recovery.
Click More under Other Options in the side panel. A list of options appear.
Click Search Large Files from the given options.
Search Large Files screen appears. Select the location from where you want to search large files.
Click Search.
The searching process of large files takes place. The screen appears as shown below.
Note: Click Stop to stop the scanning process.
Abort Scan dialog box appears. Click Yes to abort the scanning process.
Click No if you don’t want to abort scanning process.
Search Complete dialog box appears on the screen depicting the size of large files. Click OK.
After the files are scanned, a screen appears with various tabs. Each tab is tailored to serve a specific purpose.
a. All – It contains all the type of large files.
b. Archive – It contains different file types such as zip, dmg, war, exe, etc.
c. Others – It contains the files that are not present in any category.
d. Filters – Users can filter the files using two ways:
By size- Users can filter the files according to their size: Large Files, Extra Large Files and Huge Files.
Accessed in – Users can filter the files according to their date of access- 1 Month, 1 to 6 Months, and Beyond 6 Months.
e. Selected – It contains all the files user selected for deletion.
Note: The current scan results will be lost if you click Back after the large files are scanned.
View all the selected large files and deselect any important file which you don’t wish to delete.
Click Clean to remove selected large files from the system.
Confirmation dialog box appears. Click Remove to confirm to remove selected files.
Remove Files progress dialog box appears depicting the removal of selected files. If you want to stop the removal process, click Stop.
After the selected large files are cleaned from the system, Removal Complete dialog box appears on the screen with a message “You have successfully removed selected files”.
Click Back button located at the top left of the screen to close the current screen.
