In General preferences, you can specify the files that should be searched by the SpeedUp Mac during the scanning process. These are unwanted files that unnecessarily acquire memory and slow down the system.
To apply General Preferences:
1. Run SpeedUp Mac.
2. Click Preferences from the menu bar.
3. On the left pane, there are seven tabs available. By default, the General tab is selected.
4. General Preferences can be set for both Boot Partition and Non-Boot Partition.
i) Boot Partition has the following options:
a) Caches & Logs:
b) Files:
c) Junk Files:
Note: Check against the respective checkboxes or all the checkboxes that need to be scanned.
ii) Non-Boot Partition has the following options:
a) Language Files: Language files are kept in package contents of applications you have installed on your Mac. It typically contains the .nib files for a given language.
b) Large Files: Large file size is set at 100 MB for the application by default.
c) Duplicate Files: Duplicate files are a waste of disk space, consuming that drive space on your Mac
Note: Check against the respective checkboxes or all the checkboxes that need to be scanned.
5. Click on the OK button to save the General Preferences.
Note: To revert the General Preferences to the last saved, click on the Reset button.
