4.4. How to Reset Windows Password Using the Software

Note: Before going through the steps mentioned below, make sure that you have made changes in the BIOS settings to boot your Windows machine using bootable media.

To reset the password of your Windows, follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Place the bootable CD-DVD or attach the USB drive to the system and restart it in order to boot Windows from bootable CD-DVD or USB drive.

2. When system restarts you will see the screen as displayed below.

3. After booting process completes, you will see the Reset Windows Password screen of Stellar Password Recovery for Windows as shown below:

4. Select the Windows operating system from the drop-down list.

5. Select the checkbox of the Username from the list to reset the password.

6. Click on Reset Password.

7. 'Password of the selected user account reset successfully' message is displayed. This indicates that the password for the selected users have been removed.

8. Click Reboot to restart the system. If you wish to reset the password of another user, click Back to go to previous screen and repeat steps given above.

9. After the system reboots, login to the Windows user profile without using any password.
