4.3. Erasing Deleted Data

When you delete the data from your hard drive, it is not completely deleted and can be recovered again. It is because the traces of data remain on hard drive until they are erased or overwritten. To completely erase the deleted data beyond recovery Stellar File Eraser provides Erase Deleted Data option.

Steps to Erase Deleted Data:

1. Run Stellar File Eraser.

2. Select Erase Deleted Data from Select Option tabs displayed on the left pane of the screen. All the connected drives consisting of free space are displayed as below:

3. Select the desired system volume to initiate the erasure process for its deleted data.

4. Click Erase Now to start erasure process.

5. Confirm Erasure dialog box appears to confirm whether you want to erase the selected data permanently. Click Proceed to continue.

6. A screen showing the progress of erasure process is displayed as shown below:

7. After successful erasure completion, Process Completed window appears with the Erasure Summary of deleted files.

8. Click OK to finish the process.
