4.14.2. SpeedUp Mac

With SpeedUp Mac in Stellar Data Recovery you can optimize the performance of your Mac device by removing unnecessary junk files present in the system. This feature scans and lists all the junk files such as cache files, junk files, dmg files etc. and provides users with the flexibility to remove them manually.

Take the following steps to SpeedUp Mac:

1. Run Stellar Data Recovery.

2. Click  SpeedUp Mac option under Other Options in the side panel.

3. SpeedUp Mac screen appears. Click  Scan at the bottom of the screen to scan the junk files.

Note: The software will ask permission to assign disk access. Refer to the section Assign Full Disk Access before proceeding further.

Note: After you click Scan, a prompt pops up on the screen asking you to quit open browser app on your device.

• Data Scan Options

Case1: If you click Quit Browser, browser data such as browsing history, caches, saved passwords etc. will be scanned.

Case2: If you click Ignore, browser data will not be scanned.

Note: If you want to stop seeing the alert box that prompts you to scan your browsers and don't wish to scan any open browsers, check the box labeled "Don't show this again and ignore open browsers".

4. The scanning process takes place. The screen appears as shown below.

Note: Click Stop  to stop the scanning process.

• Abort Scan alert box appears. Click Yes to abort the scanning process.

• Click No if you don’t want to abort the scanning process.

5.  After the scanning process is completed, Scan Complete dialog box appears on the screen displaying the Total Junk, Privacy Traces and SpeedUp Tasks. Click OK.

6. Three features appear on your screen in a row. Each feature given below contributes to optimize the performance of your mac device.

• Perform CleanUp

• Remove Privacy Data

• Perform Speed Optimization Tasks

7. Click  Back button located at the top left of the screen to close the current screen.

8. Back dialog box appears with a message “Scan result will be lost if you move away from this page”. Click Yes to close this screen.

9. Click No if you don’t want to lose search results.
