Stellar Data Recovery
Stellar Data Recovery
Applicability: This topic on “Recovering Data from Crashed Computer” is only for the Professional, Premium, and Technician edition of Stellar Data Recovery.
Stellar Data Recovery provides an option to recover data from a completely crashed computer. When the computer (or in other words, its hard drive) crashes, the operating system fails to load and the computer does not boot up. For such incidents, Stellar Data Recovery has an option to create a Bootable Recovery Drive, which can be used to boot the computer with a USB drive and recover all your data.
Note: Make sure you have a USB drive (minimum of 8GB) and the Activation Key of Stellar Data Recovery handy before you start the procedure.
Caution: All the data on the USB drive will be deleted. Make sure to back up the data stored in the USB drive before creating the recovery drive.
1. Connect the USB drive to the computer.
2. Run Stellar Data Recovery.
3. From Select What to Recover screen, click More Tools and select Create Recovery Drive option. Alternatively, click the Click Here button provided at the bottom left of the screen.
4. Create Recovery Drive dialog box appears. The USB drive is listed automatically. If you want to change the target USB drive, you can do so from the drop-down list.
5. Click Create Recovery Drive, a dialog box appears with a warning about the deletion of data on the USB drive.
6. Click OK to initiate the process.
7. ‘Process completed successfully’ message is displayed. Click OK.
Insert the USB Recovery Drive into an open USB slot.
Press the Power button to turn on your Mac (or Restart your Mac if it’s already on).
When the startup chime is heard, press and hold the Option key. Holding that key gives you access to the Startup Manager. Once the Startup Manager screen appears, release the Option key. The utility traces for any available drives that include bootable content.
Using either the pointer or arrow keys on the keyboard, select the Recovery Drive.
Once selected, either press the Return key or double-click your selection. The machine will start to boot from the USB drive.
Once the computer boots, you will see the macOS Utilities dialog. Select Stellar Data Recovery from the list of options and click Continue.
The License Agreement window appears, accept the License Agreement and then the main window of Stellar Data Recovery is displayed.
With this software, you can recover all your data. Click the Help button to access the help manual of the software.
