Formatting the memory card deletes all the data stored within, therefore, making it empty. Here, it is important to understand that the data lost from the SanDisk CFast card still exists on the card, but is not accessible. After formatting, it is advised not to use the storage media as this will reduce the chances of recovery.

What Calls Upon the Need to Format SanDisk CFast Card?

As a matter of fact, when you attempt to view image or any other data and access is denied by the storage media, the system prompts to format the device. But, don’t worry! This is among the most common scenarios when users normally format the card without assuming that the entire data stored on it will be lost.

Under such situations, it is important to look for a solution that can offer quick recovery so as to recover photos from the latest SanDisk CFast cards as soon as possible. • Go to the Advanced Settings window by clicking the settings icon in the top left corner, select the file formats that need to be recovered from the formatted card
Note: Make sure that RAW format is selected along with regular image file formats such as .jpeg. For example: if the image is captured on Nikon digital camera, select NEF and NRW checkboxes as the RAW images are stored as NEF on the system.
      • Click Scan to start the scanning process
      • A dialog box of ‘Scanning Completed Successfully!’ displays the scan results. You can preview them in the right pane.
      • Click Recover. You can also choose to recover only the selective files – select photos that you need, right click, and click Recover.
      • In the dialog box, specify the location to save the image files. Click Save. All the files get saved at the specified location Click Save. All the photos get saved at the specified location.

      Important!

The tool will scan and display the images in the corresponding folders as per file format. For example: Click on the folder stored as NEF to access the RAW files captured on the Nikon camera or select JPEG folder to access the files stored within it. On clicking the file, the tool will generate a preview within the panel.

It is recommended to select another drive to save the recovered data as saving it to the same location may lead to several issues. You may not be able to open the file after the recovery if it is stored on the same drive.

Note: It's been a month since SanDisk Extreme and Extreme Pro portable SSDs have reported sudden wipe data cases. Even there are some incidents registered where SSD became unreadable. Just download Stellar Photo Recovery software and recover data from SanDisk SSDs.
