Try any Hex Editor tool, such as HxD, OxED, Hex Workshop, Hex Fiend, Neo, etc. These programs let you view and manipulate the binary data of an image file. 1. Hi Roxy,
If the transfer process is interrupted due to a power outage, a disconnection of the device, or an error in the transfer process, the file may become partially transferred or corrupted. Or, File system errors can occur on the SD card, causing data corruption. This can happen due to improper ejection of the SD card from a device or a failure in the file system itself.

      1. I downloaded the software to hopefully recover photos from an SD card that stopped working with 200 – 300 once-in-a-lifetime images on. However, when I tried to run the software, I got the message that the card wasn’t recognised and that I needed to format the card.

It had been formatted when I first popped it in the camera, so what am I supposed to do? Is my card beyond help? Could the card manufacturer themselves trashed the whole card when they tried their data recovery service?

        1. Hi Chris,
The reasons could be many and card not recognizing could be another issue. I would suggest try to fix the card and use Stellar Photo recovery Professional software to fix and recover your photos. It will help you recover your lost photos and fix them too if corrupted.
