I have lost a part of my spanned partition when trying to make dual bootable disc. My original OS was Win 7 and I wanted to install Ubuntu, but I had no clue that I have a dynamic disc instead of basic. When I was trying to install Ubuntu a partition of my disc was showed strangely, instead of ~500 GB it was only ~270 GB and additionally it can not to be mounted. I run ubuntu’s ntfsfix. It worked partially – now I had access to my ~270 GB partition, but not to the whole 500 GB. It was weird and stopped the installation of Ubuntu and restarted the PC. Immediately after restarting my Windows showed me that I have a problem with my disc and offered to run disc check. And when the pc started I realized that I have around 270 GB instead of ~500 GB and a lot o my folder and files was gone.
Stellar Data Recovery unlike one another program restored almost completely the tree structure of my lost files and folders and with appropriate size, but it turned out that almost all are corrupted and can no longer be used.
How come the program can restore files and folders in such a detail, but they appear to be corrupted, although I have not manipulated this partition? Do you have any ideas how I can “make them readable”?

Can Dynamic Volume be extended without losing data?

A simple volume is made up of free space on a single dynamic disk and also extend a spanned volume onto a maximum of 32 dynamic disks. If you upgraded from Windows OS, you cannot extend a simple or spanned volume that was originally created a basic volume Windows OS. If you need to extend you cannot delete any portion of it without deleting the entire spanned volume.
