Here are the default locations of OLK files based on the Outlook for Mac versions.

To access the file, click on Go > Go to Folder > and type the above address to navigate to the folder containing the file.

What to do if the Outlook or Library Folder is Hidden?

In Outlook for Mac, the Library folder is hidden by default. To access the Library folder and its contents, follow the below steps:

Click on Go in the Finder menu.
Select the Go to Folder option.

Type ~/Library and press return.

How to Find an Archive OLM File on Mac?

If you have exported your Outlook for Mac data to an OLM file, simply go to the location where you have saved the file. However, if you didn’t remember the OLM file location on your Mac, you can search it using the Spotlight Search feature on Mac. Here is how:

Click on the Spotlight Search icon (Lens icon) in the Finder menu.
Search for the OLM file.
Spotlight Search will populate all the OLM files located on your Mac device. Click on Search in Finder.

Launch the Outlook for Mac application. Click on File > Export.

The Export to Archive File (.olm) window will appear. Select the mailbox items that you want to export. Click Continue.

In the next window, select the location where you want to save the OLM file and click Save.

Outlook will begin exporting the mailbox data to OLM file.

Once the data is exported, click on Finish.

You will find the OLM file at the selected location.

How to Open Archive OLM File in Outlook for Mac?

You can open the OLM file by using the Outlook’s Import wizard. Follow the steps mentioned below:

For Mac Outlook 2019 and 2016

Note: Outlook for Mac (New Version) doesn’t allow you to import OLM files. Make sure to switch to the Legacy Outlook before doing it.

Click on File > Import.

The Import window will open.
OLM file at the selected location (.olm) option and click Continue.

Navigate to the OLM file location and select it. Click Import.

It will begin importing the OLM file into Outlook.

Click Finish to complete the process.

For Mac Outlook 2011

Go to the File tab and select Import.
In the Import window that opens, select Outlook Data File (.pst or .olm), and click the right arrow towards the right-bottom.
Select Outlook for Mac Data File (.olm) and click the right arrow once again.
Go to the OLM file location and select the file.
