I have a “WD My Passport Ultra” 1 TB hard drive and it worked great for the past three years. But, from last three days it was creating a weird sound which was making me tensed. So, I decided to replace the drive and transfer my data to the new hard disk. Today, when I connect my hard drive to transfer data into new drive it became inaccessible. The drive was appearing in the system only, but I was not able to access it. Now, I want to know whether this software can retrieve my data from inaccessible hard disk or not.

    I have tried this software to recover my data from a Toshiba hard drive. It is showing whole tree structure as it is as it was before. When i select the JPG file from recovered data it doesn’t show the preview. I have saved it to my computer and then tried to open it with all the software used to view jpg file but it says the file format is not supported. I have even tried photoshop to open that but it didn’t worked. Is there anything i need to do before saving the recovered data? Please help me.

    We would like to inform you that data recovery is dependent on factors like data loss reason, severity of corruption, overwritten activity etc. The software works on “what you see is what you can recover”. That means the files will be recovered in the same manner as you were able to see them in the preview window after the scanning is complete. If the preview of JPEG files are available, then recovery is certainly possible else not

  Hi, I believe your hard drive health is not okay, and it requires repairing command. Also, I want to know that have you tried a check disk command to detect the issue in an external hard drive? If not, then try it first. Check disk command is very useful to identify and troubleshoot the hard drive issues.   Please let us know if your Mac’s Disk Utility is showing up your hard drive? Stellar Mac Data Recovery application will display, scan and recover those hard drives which show up in the Disk Utility (either in active or inactive mode). Hard Drives not appearing in the Disk Utility will not be shown in software’s interface for data recovery. This is because the hard drives get physically damaged and go unrecognised and no data recovery software can recover a physically damaged storage media.

Hi, my hard drive is turned into RAW form, I tried check disk command to repair that drive but received an error message that CHKDSK is not available for the RAW drive. Can you please suggest me what I can do now?

  Hello, sometimes it happens when a CHKDSK command doesn’t read the RAW hard drive and shows the error message like this. I would recommend you first to use the data recovery software mentioned above to recover your data, and then format your hard drive and create a new volume.
