Many people are using DJI Osmo Pocket Camera these days. This handheld gimbal lets you shoot highly stabilized and detailed videos using its powerful 1/2.3 inch sensor, 80°FOV, and f/2.0 aperture. It also creates slow-motion videos at 1080p/120fps 4x, 4K/60fps video at 100 Mbps and photos at 12MP (pixel size 1.55μm) capturing each detail. However, there are always chances you might lose your valuable data due to accidental deletion, formatting or corruption.

Methods to Recover Deleted Videos & Photos from DJI OSMO
Method 1: Use Photo Recovery Software
If you have accidentally deleted some footage from the SD card of your DJI OSMO camera, choosing a professional photo recovery tool such as Stellar Photo Recovery software is the best way to go. - Scanned files can be viewed in three panes– ‘File Type’, ‘Tree View’ and Deleted List’.

- Click Recover at the bottom.
- Browse and choose the desired location.
- Click Start Saving to store the recovered data.
[Caution: Do not save the recovered files in the affected drive/volume/partition/SD card from which you lost the data to avoid overwriting.]
Method 2: Perform CHKDSK
If you’re trying to access DJI Osmo Pocket Camera’s SD card using a card reader and the system is showing error in reading it or asks to format it before opening, chances are that your SD card is corrupt. To recover photos and videos, run the CHKDSK command to fix this error.
- Go to windows Start
- Type cmd in the search box to open Command Prompt.
- Type chkdsk e: /f (usually SD card drive letter) and press Enter.
Check now if you can access the OSMO pocket camera photos and videos stored in the SD card.
If this method does not resolve the issue, try the next one.
Method 3: Perform Re-Installation of Drivers
If the system is not able to detect the SD card, one or more of your disk drives may be outdated. Try to reinstall the drive(s) by following these steps:
- Go to This PC and right click on it.
- Check Manage > Device Manager > and double click Disk Drives.
- Go to removable drive and click Uninstall.
- Disconnect the SD Card, restart your system and then re-connect it.
The system should be able to detect it now.
| DJI Go App: There is also an application available, named DJI Go App, which you can try. Some people have used it to review and recover their photos and videos. However, the results are not very satisfactory, as it performs recovery from cached files. The media files may have glitches or bad resolution. |
