For performing more advanced engineering and statistical calculations, MS Excel provides 'Analysis ToolPak'. 'Analysis ToolPak' is an add-in and can be used to apply complex data analysis techniques in Excel. However, you have to enable this add-in manually as it is disabled by default. Follow the below-mentioned steps to enable this toolkit:

  • Click 'Microsoft Office' button, and then select 'Options'.
  • Click 'Add-ins', and then on the 'Manage' drop-down box, select 'Excel Add-ins' and hit 'Go' button.
  • 'Add-Ins available' box opens; check the 'Analysis ToolPak' checkbox, and then click 'OK'.
Note: If  'Analysis ToolPak' is not available in 'Add-Ins available' box, then click 'Browse' to fetch it. Moreover, if you are asked to install the 'Analysis ToolPak' as it is not currently available, then click 'Yes' to install it.

After enabling the 'Analysis ToolPak', you can find the 'Data Analysis' command at the 'Analysis' group under 'Data' tab.

Note: For including the Visual Basic for Application (VBA) functions of 'Analysis ToolPak', you have to load the Analysis ToolPak – VBA add-in the same way you have enabled the 'Analysis ToolPak'. Check the 'Analysis ToolPak – VBA' checkbox under 'Add-ins available' box and click 'OK'.
